A hummingbird and a honeybee hovering toward each other above a bed of flowers

Two forces. One flower.

We temper the market's hype against its reality — and reach the nectar every time.

01 — The Nectar Model

A market is never one animal. It is two, feeding on the same flower.

The hummingbird is hype. It moves at eighty wingbeats a second — narrative, momentum, flows, the sudden repricing of a story before anyone has audited it. It finds the flower first. It is almost never wrong about where, and almost always wrong about how much.

The bee is reality. Slow, structural, unglamorous: cash conversion, unit economics, supply, inventory, the arithmetic that survives a quarter. It arrives late and it arrives correct. Alone, it is early for years — which the market prices as being wrong.

Most funds pick an animal and call it a philosophy. We do neither. The Nectar Model is a proprietary tempering layer that runs both signals against each other continuously — narrative velocity on one axis, verified fundamentals on the other — and only deploys where the two agree on direction while disagreeing on price. That gap is the nectar. It is measurable, it is repeatable, and it is where we live.

Tempering is a metallurgical word on purpose. You do not choose between heat and cold; you cycle them until the blade holds an edge. Hype without reality shatters. Reality without hype never cuts. Run together, under tension, they hold.

02 — The two forces, tempered

Force IHype

  • Narrative velocity & attention flow
  • Crowding, positioning, reflexivity
  • Speed: first to the flower
  • Failure mode: pays any price

Force IIReality

  • Cash conversion & unit economics
  • Supply, capacity, obligations
  • Patience: correct, eventually
  • Failure mode: early for years

We do not average the two. We hold them in tension and trade only the gap between them.
